The inventory of flora and fauna’s biodiversity is one of the main research tasks for special protected nature territories. Up to date there is no special research of fauna of Staphylinidae beetles in reserve’s territory. Besides the information about casual finding of Staphylinidae beetles in reserve’s territory is practically absent in the literature.

Kamennye Mogily reserve is one of the standards of steppe biodiversity. Many unique animals and vegetable organisms inhabit reserve’s territory. Total area of reserve’s territory is 400 hectares. Reserve’s territory is situated in Donetsk (300 hectares) and Zaporozhye (100 hectares) regions.

Staphylinidae beetles are widely spread beetles’ family. At present there are over 43000 species in the world fauna (Herman, 2001). There are over 1100 species of Staphylinidae beetles in Ukraine fauna (Petrenko, 1992).

The materials, which were collected by route-expeditionary method in 2006–2008, were taken for this report. The material was collected by generally accepted methodology of entomological researches by the instrumentality of Barber’s soil trap. 4 % formaline solution was used as a fixed liquid.

The research results are 53 species of Staphylinidae beetles out of 6 subfamily (Omaliinae – 4 species, Oxytelinae – 1, Paederinae – 6, Staphylininae – 25, Tachyporinae – 6, Aleocharinae – 11 species). The list of Staphylinidae beetles set out below was formed in compliance with last nomenclatural corrections (Herman, 2001; Löbl & Smetana, 2004).
