Gambusia holbrooki is an exotic and non economical value species in the Caspian Sea and aquaculture. The Gambusia fit seven of the criteria of a successful invader: are abundant in original range, are polyphagous, have a short generation time, a single female can colonise a new site, have a broad physical tolerance, are closely associated with humans, and have high genetic variability. Some of biological characters of this species were studied in the main inflowing Canal into Gomishan Wetland, Southeast Caspian Sea during 2001–2002. The fish captured using of beach seine (mesh: 8 mm). During 9 months sampling, 705 specimens were sampled and fixed in 10 % formaldehyde. 270 individuals’ fish were dissected for examining of feeding regime and identified by numerical method. Results demonstrated that fish samples were mostly female. The length and weight of the examined fish were 23–68 mm (48.7±12.4 mm) and 0.083–4.05 gr (2.05±1.12 gr), respectively. Growth pattern was as allometric. Reproductive peak was in the summer as the most fish were pregnant. The larvae range 12–134 individuals. The minimum and maximum values of condition factor were on December and July, respectively. The dominant prey in fish were insect and Nereid.
